Just In Adamawa State Approves N225 Billion Budget Proposal for Fiscal Year 2024

This approval was granted during the council’s regular meeting held on Wednesday. The budget proposal allocates N135 billion for recurrent expenditures and N90 billion for capital expenditures.
These segments, recurrent and capital, account for 60 percent and 40 percent, respectively, of the total budget proposal.
The subsequent phase in the budget process will involve Governor Ahmadu Fintiri presenting the proposal to the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
In addition to the budget proposal, the council meeting on Wednesday, which Governor Fintiri presided over, also authorized an expenditure commitment of N1.7 billion to acquire furniture for junior and senior secondary schools throughout the state.
Following the meeting held in the Council Chambers of the Government House in Yola, the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Mrs. Neido G. Kofulto, provided further details to the press.
Dr. Umar Garba Pella, the Commissioner of Education, emphasized the administration’s dedication to education and highlighted the importance of the financial allocation for new chairs and desks for students. He stated, “The government will continue to ensure the adequate provision of furniture in schools.”
