During the 2023 Norman Borlaug International Dialogue held in Iowa, United States, Shettima highlighted Nigeria’s appeal as an investment destination.
He pointed out that the country boasts 70 million hectares of underutilized arable land, which accounts for 75% of its total landmass.
Shettima, speaking at the event with the theme “Harnessing Change,” expressed that substantial opportunities exist in Nigeria for both local and foreign investors to enhance agricultural productivity.
The Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue, also known as the “Borlaug Dialogue,” serves as a platform for individuals from over 65 countries to address cutting-edge issues related to global food security and nutrition.
Furthermore, Shettima mentioned that under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria has consistently demonstrated its prioritization of the Agrifood sector.
