Emefiele, currently facing accusations of financial impropriety, challenges the credibility of the report, denouncing it as false, misleading, and an attempt to tarnish his reputation. He highlights that the former President had publicly acknowledged authorizing the Naira redesign on multiple occasions. Emefiele further addresses allegations of a $6.23 million withdrawal from the CBN vault, emphasizing that he has no knowledge of such a directive and challenges Obazee to produce the purported documents.

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, also denies involvement in the alleged $6 million withdrawal, dismissing the claims as baseless and demanding a transparent investigation. Emefiele and Mustapha both emphasize their commitment to legal processes to clear their names from the damaging allegations.

Meanwhile, former Deputy Governor of CBN, Kingsley Moghalu, criticizes the media trial of Emefiele and others, expressing concern over the leaked report and its potential impact on the reputation of the CBN and Nigeria’s economy. Moghalu emphasizes the need for a thorough review of the report before public circulation, emphasizing the potential harm caused by sensationalism.

As the controversy unfolds, Emefiele and Mustapha stand firm in their denial of the allegations, calling for a fair and transparent investigation to uncover the truth behind the accusations.
