JUST IN: Fatal Ogun Road Accident Claims Two Lives And Leaves Eight Injured

In a devastating incident along the Idiroko-Ota road, two individuals have lost their lives, while eight others sustained injuries in a road crash that transpired around 8 pm on Sunday, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The collision involved a total of 10 individuals, comprising five male adults, four female adults, and one female child. The FRSC confirmed that the crash resulted in the death of two male adults and left eight people injured, including four female adults, three male adults, and one female child.

The vehicles involved were identified as a Man Diesel truck with the license plate LSR10YD and a Toyota Carina without a visible license plate. The preliminary investigation by the FRSC points to wrongful overtaking as the suspected cause of the tragic collision, leading to a head-on impact.

Florence Oko, the spokesperson for FRSC in Ogun, reported that the injured victims were promptly transported to General Hospital, Idiroko, for necessary medical treatment. Meanwhile, the deceased individuals were taken away by their respective families.

CC Anthony Uga, the Sector Commander of FRSC in Ogun, expressed condolences and advised motorists to prioritize safety by maintaining a clear vision of 150 to 200 meters at night and practicing controlled speeds, particularly during overtaking maneuvers. This tragic incident underscores the importance of responsible driving to prevent such heart-wrenching accidents on the road.
