During these assessments, Fasawe engaged with healthcare professionals, inspected facilities, reviewed operational procedures, and identified challenges for immediate interventions. The special media assistant to the Mandate Secretary, Bola Ajao, conveyed that the purpose of these visits was to evaluate the current state of healthcare facilities, pinpoint areas for improvement, and ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Fasawe highlighted that the on-the-spot assessments were in line with the directive of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, and were crucial in ongoing efforts to strengthen public healthcare in the FCTA. She emphasized the focus on identifying challenges, implementing necessary reforms, and ensuring citizens receive optimal care. Areas requiring swift interventions include facility infrastructure, human capacity, medical equipment, staffing, and standardization of operations.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to establishing a robust healthcare system prioritizing citizen well-being and healthy families, Fasawe called on the public to refrain from attacking health workers. She assured the public of the administration’s dedication to delivering efficient healthcare services.

The initial phase of the assessment covered General hospitals in Rubochi, Kwali, Abaji, Zuba, Bwari, and Kubwa. The second phase of visits is scheduled for the coming year, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to improving and maintaining healthcare standards in the FCT.
