Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced the forthcoming implementation of additional palliative measures to alleviate the impact of the removal of fuel subsidy. Represented by his wife, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the governor urged residents to maintain peace, love, and unity while expressing faith in divine intervention. He assured the public that his administration would persist in delivering welfare programs aimed at ensuring the well-being and progress of the residents.
“As we approach the festive season and the New Year, I urge all Lagosians to continue living in peace and righteousness, which, according to the scripture, uplifts a nation. Despite the challenges we face, let us not lose hope but continue to trust in God and have faith in the good intentions of those in positions of authority,” remarked Governor Sanwo-Olu.
Highlighting the challenging times faced by individuals and the nation, he emphasized the importance of ceaseless prayers, expressing confidence that the current difficulties would diminish in significance as the positive outcomes of collective sacrifices became evident.
The governor concluded with a prayer for the preservation of lives and good health, anticipating the realization of a new era of prosperity for the state and the nation.
In a related address, the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Olanrewaju Layode, urged residents to prioritize safety and adopt a spirit of generosity by extending love and sharing with the less privileged. He emphasized the need to embrace the virtues of Jesus Christ, exemplified by humility and service to humanity, not only during the festive season but throughout the entire year.
