Speaking at the official inauguration of the association and the commissioning of its new office in Abuja, Innabuike highlighted the lucrative aspects of venturing into donkey production. He stressed that Nigeria could generate $60 million annually through donkey exportation and processing, provided there is a concerted effort to increase production within the country.

“We are focusing on aggressive production, setting a target of five to seven years to achieve our goal, which will simultaneously address the issue of unemployment among the youth population,” he remarked. Innabuike also underscored the medicinal value of donkeys and urged the government to provide support to the association, either through grants or loans, to promote investments in donkey production.

Expressing the association’s future plans, Innabuike revealed intentions to establish ranches across the country, particularly in the North where donkey production is viable. Seeking assistance from the government, he emphasized the importance of loans to facilitate the creation of expansive ranches. The association aims to produce two million donkeys by the year 2030, contributing significantly to the nation’s economic growth and employment opportunities.
