This ruling comes after the Presidential Election Petition Court had previously confirmed Tinubu’s election. The Supreme Court’s judgment today dismisses an appeal filed by Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, who were challenging the earlier September 6 decision of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal.

A key contention brought forth by Atiku Abubakar was that President Tinubu’s victory should be annulled due to him not achieving 25% of the votes cast in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. However, this argument was also dismissed by the apex court. CONTINUE READING
