According to a statement from the Edo State Governor’s media office on Tuesday evening, April 1, 2025, the arrests were made in Uromi based on credible intelligence. The two main suspects have been transferred to Abuja for further interrogation and prosecution by the appropriate authorities.

The statement further revealed that security operatives are actively searching for other key suspects connected to the tragic incident.

It is worth noting that on Monday, during a condolence visit to Kano State, Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo confirmed that 14 suspects had already been apprehended in connection with the killings and would soon be transferred to Abuja for additional questioning.
