The Kaduna State branch of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has apprehended three individuals for allegedly attempting to smuggle hard drugs concealed within a loaf of bread to a suspect in police custody.
The suspects, identified as John Solomon (38), Kunle Oluwale (45), and James Daniel Baba (45), residents of Sabon Wuse, Abuja, were caught at the charge room of the SCID Kaduna. ASP Mansir Hassan, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed the arrest in a statement, disclosing that the suspects were found in possession of a Bomtel handset and an undisclosed quantity of drugs concealed in a loaf of bread.
The suspects had allegedly tried to persuade the Charge Room Officer (CRO) to deliver the bread to a suspect named Gideon Amao, currently under investigation by the SCID. Investigations are ongoing, and Commissioner of Police CP AUDU ALI DABIGI psc has urged officers to remain vigilant to prevent such incidents.
