Kaduna Troops Eliminate Five Bandits, Confiscate Weapons And Ammunition

Troops and Special Forces operating within Operation Whirl Punch (OPWP) conducted specialized combat patrols in the Kachia-Kajuru axis, resulting in the neutralization of five bandits in the Dantarau general area of Kajuru LGA.

According to Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, overseeing the state, the troops were deployed to clear the Maro-Enugu axis spanning Kachia and Kajuru LGAs. At Dantarau community, they engaged bandits in a fierce confrontation, resulting in the elimination of five criminals.

The operation also led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, one locally fabricated sub-machine gun, nine AK-47 magazines, 250 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, two motorcycles, and two handheld radio sets.

Additionally, the Air Component of Operation Whirl Punch successfully targeted bandit camps in Sabon Birnin Daji general area of Igabi LGA. Reliable human intelligence sources confirmed the success of the operation, with several bandits eliminated. Some wounded bandits were observed in the vicinity, seeking medical assistance.

Upon receiving the report, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State expressed satisfaction with the breakthrough and commended the troops, led by Major General MLD Saraso, for their unwavering dedication. He also praised Air Vice Marshall NN Ananaba and his team for their exceptional contributions to the state’s security.

The Governor urged the military to maintain the momentum of operations to ensure continued safety and security in the region.
