Kaduna Will Return To Us – PDP Fires At APC, Promises 2027 Takeover

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Chief Edward Percy Masha, has reaffirmed the party’s determination to reclaim power in the state during the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Masha cited widespread public dissatisfaction with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and increasing support for the PDP as clear signs of shifting political momentum in Kaduna.

Since taking over leadership six months ago, Masha has prioritized unity, reconciliation, and the strengthening of grassroots structures. He noted that ongoing engagement with party stakeholders has helped reestablish the PDP as a strong opposition force and a symbol of hope for the people of the state.

While acknowledging that some members have defected to the APC, Masha stressed that the PDP remains focused and united. He also praised the party’s Reconciliation Committee, chaired by Shuaibu Miqati, for successfully bridging internal divisions.

“Our goal is to protect our National Assembly seats, maintain our three senatorial positions, and expand our influence both within Kaduna and nationally,” Masha stated.

He strongly criticized Governor Uba Sani’s APC-led government, dismissing its “Sustain Agenda” as a continuation of failed policies that have worsened the living conditions of residents. Citing persistent insecurity in areas like Kauru, Kaura, Zangon-Kataf, Kajuru, Lere, and Birnin Gwari, Masha accused the government of failing to support federal security efforts.

“Civil servants are on strike, hospitals are underfunded, and rural infrastructure has collapsed,” he said.

Masha also alleged financial mismanagement by the state government, claiming public funds were being diverted to lavish events while key development projects remain incomplete or non-existent.

In contrast, he highlighted the efforts of PDP lawmakers who, he said, have implemented empowerment programs to help ease the people’s hardships.

On a legal front, Masha disclosed that the PDP is seeking the removal of all 23 local government chairmen and 255 councillors in Kaduna State, aiming to restore democratic governance through the courts.
