No Sacred Cows: EFCC Boss Declares War On Corrupt Politicians Across APC, PDP, LP, NNPP

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has reaffirmed his commitment to holding accountable any politician found guilty of looting public funds—regardless of their political party, including the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

As reported by Naija News, Olukoyede made this declaration during his appearance on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme aired on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Olukoyede emphasized that the EFCC is impartial and committed solely to justice. “I am not a member of any political party,” he stated. “Our responsibility is to do what is right, regardless of who is involved.”

He added, “If we find that you have stolen public funds, you will be held accountable—whether you’re from the APC, PDP, Labour Party, NNPP, or any other party.”

Speaking further, he stressed that political affiliation does not shield anyone from prosecution:
“If an APC member is involved in financial crimes, they will face charges. If it’s a PDP member, it’ll be like trying to digest sandpaper—impossible. What matters to us is whether an offence has been committed and whether there’s enough evidence to proceed.”

Olukoyede concluded by reiterating the EFCC’s independence: “I am apolitical. To the best of my knowledge, no one is influencing us to act contrary to our mandate or the law.”
