Monica James, who works on France Road, emphasized that dialogue is the only viable solution to address the protesters’ grievances. “I haven’t eaten for two days due to the curfew; our clients are nowhere to be found,” she said. She urged the protest organizers to pause their demonstrations and negotiate with the government to resolve the issues.

Deborah Iliya, operating on Yoruba Road, echoed James’ concerns, describing the situation as dire due to the absence of clients. Hannatu Ibrahim from Weather Head Area also joined the call for an end to the protests, advocating for a return to normalcy.

Caroline James, working from a brothel on Enugu Street in Sabon Gari, noted that the infiltration of hoodlums and subsequent violence had adversely affected their business. She recounted that she had clients ready to pay between N30,000 and N40,000 who were unable to keep their appointments because of the curfew and unrest.

Another sex worker, who chose to remain anonymous, revealed that some of her colleagues were forced to share rooms due to the lack of customers during the protests. She appealed for a relaxation of the curfew, which she said had greatly hindered their ability to work.

Moses John, a bar attendant, informed NAN that the curfew had significantly impacted business in Sabon Gari, with hotels and bars struggling to attract customers. Kenneth John, a dealer in Esi Ewu (goat head) on Aitken Road, also reported that the curfew had negatively affected his business, resulting in losses due to power outages.
