Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has selected Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, son of NNPP Presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as a nominee for a commissioner position within the state. This nomination, revealed in a list presented to the Kano State Assembly, introduces a mix of both fresh and familiar political figures into the state’s governance framework.
In addition to Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, the governor’s list features three other nominees: Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, Usman Shehu Aliyu, and Abduljabbar Garko.
During a plenary session, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Falgore, confirmed the reception of the executive list. He declared that the screening process for the commissioner nominees would kick off early in the following week, marking the subsequent stage in formalizing their appointments.
The inclusion of Mustapha Kwankwaso is of particular significance, given the political prominence of his lineage in Kano and the broader Nigerian political arena.
In other news, Governor Yusuf recently addressed speculations surrounding the alleged allocation of N6 billion for the Ramadan Feeding Programme in the state. Via his official channel, Governor Yusuf clarified that the actual amount allocated for the program is one billion one hundred and ninety-seven million seven hundred thousand naira for the entire month, distancing his administration from the exaggerated figures circulating in the media.
