Addressing the CEOs of various aviation agencies in attendance, he emphasized his commitment to delivering results.

Keyamo mentioned that he, along with other ministers in President Bola Tinubu’s government, had signed a performance bond.

He indicated that it’s a competitive environment where either he succeeds or the CEOs face dismissal.

He said, “In this scenario, it’s a race, and only one side can survive. I’ve conveyed this message to all the CEOs. Someone may lose their position, but before that happens, I’ll make sure to hold them accountable.”

Keyamo sought the support of aviation stakeholders to help secure his position, highlighting that he had signed his performance bond and urged their backing to avoid being removed from office.

He urged stakeholders to refrain from playing the blame game and, instead, work together to resolve industry issues. He also highlighted some of the activities and initiatives he has undertaken since assuming his role.

Keyamo referred to his inspection of Nigeria’s airports, particularly in Lagos and Abuja, upon his appointment.

He discussed the establishment of a task force responsible for relocating foreign airlines from the old international terminal to the new terminal, aiming to improve the condition of the old terminal and enhance the country’s image.

He reported that the task force had submitted its recommendations for consideration and further action. Keyamo expressed his commitment to revitalizing the old terminal to boost airport revenue.

Keyamo also discussed receiving land for the construction of the second runway at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja from the Jiwa Community.

He described this as a historic achievement that fulfills a long-standing dream. He emphasized that the second runway would offer significant economic benefits to the nation.
