Kidnapped Days Before Her Wedding, Lady Welcomes First Child Exactly One Year Later
A Nigerian lady who was kidnapped just days before her wedding has welcomed her first child, exactly one year after surviving the terrifying ordeal.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Plangdes Nelson was serving as a National Youth Service Corps member in Bauchi State when she was abducted in September 2025 while staying at her brother-in-law’s residence in Dong community, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident reportedly occurred at night as family members were preparing to retire for the day. The perpetrators allegedly broke into the compound and abducted Nelson alongside another relative.
The abduction happened only days before her scheduled wedding, transforming what should have been a period of celebration into a frightening experience for Nelson and her family.
One year after the incident, Nelson, who is also a baker, shared an emotional update on Facebook on September 14, 2026, announcing the arrival of her first child.
Reflecting on the coincidence of the date, she expressed gratitude to God for turning a painful chapter in her life into a moment of happiness.
“14/09/2025. Exactly one year ago, I was kidnapped. I never imagined that this same date would become one of the happiest days of my life,” she wrote.
Nelson described the birth of her child as a major testimony following the ordeal she experienced a year earlier.
“One year later, God turned my tears of fear into tears of joy. I gave birth to my precious baby.
“From pain to a beautiful testimony. Only God could write this story.
“The mummy, daddy and the baby are fine,” she added.
Her announcement has since attracted congratulatory messages from social media users, who celebrated the arrival of her baby and joined her in expressing gratitude for the remarkable turn of events.
