Kidnapped To The Shrine! Ngige Reveals Sh*cking Pre-Election Ordeal

Former Anambra State Governor, Chris Ngige, has revealed that he was forcibly taken to the notorious Okija shrine to swear an oath just days before the election that brought him to power. Ngige served as governor from 2003 to 2006.

In an interview with Vanguard, the medical doctor-turned-politician recounted how he was abducted late at night, unaware of their destination, and compelled to pledge loyalty at the shrine. He said he carried a Bible and holy water, believing that God Almighty was greater than any deity.

Upon arrival, Ngige observed the rituals and allowed one of the shrine’s attendants to swear the oath on his behalf. However, after assuming office, security reports exposed fraudulent and illicit activities at the shrine. With the approval of then-President Olusegun Obasanjo, Ngige and law enforcement dismantled the location.

“That shrine is gone,” Ngige said, noting that while other smaller shrines still exist in Okija, many people have since abandoned them after realizing they were run by swindlers.
