Malam Umar Damina, the chairman of MACBAN in the state, made this announcement during a visit to Governor Yahaya Bello at the Glass House, Government House, Lokoja, where he was accompanied by hundreds of Fulani herders from all 21 local government areas of the state.
Damina commended Governor Bello for his numerous achievements in the state and cited his unwavering commitment to the well-being of its members and his efforts in ensuring the security of residents as the basis for their endorsement of the APC candidate.
He expressed the belief that Alhaji Usman Ododo, if elected as governor, would continue to build upon the solid foundation laid by Governor Bello.
In response, Governor Bello expressed his appreciation to the association for endorsing the APC candidate and extended his administration’s commitment to eliminating any form of discrimination against the Fulani people, particularly those engaged in lawful businesses within and outside the state.
The governor acknowledged the valuable contributions of MACBAN in sharing information and gathering intelligence, which had assisted conventional security forces in identifying and dealing with criminal elements within the Fulani community in the state.
Governor Bello reiterated his administration’s stance against any discrimination based on tribe and encouraged law-abiding Fulani residents in the state to remain vigilant and cooperate in identifying criminal elements among them, thereby contributing to the overall peace and safety of all residents.
