Recent reports have confirmed the safe release of Sheikh Qasim Musa, the Chief Imam of Iyara in Kogi State, who was abducted from his residence on March 25, 2024. Gunmen stormed his home in Ilukpa, Iyara, and forcefully took him away, sparking concerns for his safety.

However, Saturday morning brought relief as the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, announced the Imam’s freedom. This development follows days of anxious waiting and efforts to secure his release.

In a separate development, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has strongly condemned the recent violent attacks in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi state. These attacks resulted in the tragic loss of numerous lives, prompting calls for a thorough investigation and swift action to restore peace.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has urged the Inspector General of Police to intervene promptly and ensure that those responsible for the attacks are brought to justice.
