The investigation stemmed from claims made last year regarding the lecturers’ involvement in examination malpractices and sexual misconduct. Under the leadership of Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, the council commended the university’s management for adhering to due process throughout the investigation.
Senator Ndoma-Egba emphasized that the council will not tolerate any form of unethical behavior within the institution and urged the university to expedite the resolution of other ongoing misconduct cases, particularly one currently drawing media attention in the Faculty of Science.
The council also issued a stern warning to staff and lecturers, stressing that any form of student molestation or misconduct will not be tolerated. Students were encouraged to report any incidents of harassment or mistreatment, with the assurance that such cases would be thoroughly addressed.
