She made the remarks during a recent episode of the One 54 podcast, where she reflected on her experiences and observations about the country.
According to her, Nigeria has strong potential, driven by its youthful population and rapid growth in sectors like technology. However, she noted that poor governance has slowed the nation’s progress.
Korra explained that many Nigerians have stopped relying on government services and instead provide basic necessities for themselves. She said individuals often dig wells and treat water for personal use, while also generating their own electricity through generators or solar power.
She added that in many communities, people have built personal systems to cope with daily life, as public infrastructure remains unreliable.
“Nigeria is blessed. It has no natural disasters. There have been predictions about the sea flooding Lagos, but instead, land is being reclaimed and the city keeps expanding rapidly.
“With a population of about 300 million, mostly young people, there is huge potential. The tech space is booming, but government actions have held things back. Many people no longer depend on the government.
“In Nigeria, you become your own government. You source your own water, generate your own electricity, and create your own systems to survive. Everyone is essentially running their own small ‘kingdom’ just to get by,” she said.
