Residents of Imo State are applauding local police for their quick response to a robbery incident at a jewelry store in the Ikeneagbu area on Saturday, July 29.

Upon receiving the news, the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde, quickly mobilized the Command’s Tactical team, leading them to the scene personally.
Confronted by police, the robbers engaged them in a gunfight. However, the police officers, displaying superior tactical skills and firepower, overwhelmed the criminals. The police recovered two pump-action guns, four locally made pistols, eight rounds of live cartridges, one expanded cartridge, a white Hilux used in the operation, jewelry worth millions of naira, two military undershirts, two special forces t-shirts, a face mask, and bags containing other stolen items.
According to Okoye, the swift response of the police ensured that neither shop owners nor customers were harmed during the incident.
The police have intensified their manhunt for the remaining suspects and the manufacturers of the locally-made pistols. The arrested suspects will face a thorough investigation and be arraigned in court upon completion. The neutralized suspect’s body will be deposited at the morgue,” he stated.
The Commissioner of Police, commending the officers for their exceptional work, urged them to maintain their current momentum in the ongoing battle against all forms of crime in the State. The CP also thanked the good people of Imo State for their unwavering support and cooperation with the Police, urging residents, especially owners of hospitals and other first aid outlets, to report any person seen with or treating gunshot injuries immediately to the nearest police station or via the Command’s emergency line at 08034773600 or 08098880197.
