In a joint statement signed by its Conveners Fidelis Sunday, Kabiru Yusuf, and Ugochukwu Nzube, the legislative support group clarified that Akpabio’s comment was misinterpreted and that he is genuinely concerned about the plight of the citizens and determined to take action to alleviate their hardships.

The group urged Nigerians not to misconstrue the intention behind the remark, pointing out that Akpabio has a track record of being a compassionate and transformational leader.

They highlighted his past achievements as the Governor of Akwa Ibom and during his tenure as a Senator and Minister, where he earned a reputation for delivering unprecedented human and infrastructural development.

As the current Senate President, the group believes that Akpabio’s uncommon leadership will ultimately benefit the citizens.
