Reacting to Saraki’s statement, delivered through his media aide, the Commissioner for Communications, Mrs. Bola Olukoju, countered that Saraki is in no position to criticize, claiming that the people of Kwara had rejected Saraki’s leadership long ago. Olukoju said, “Saraki lacks the moral standing to speak on the welfare of the people.”

She continued with sharp criticisms, comparing Saraki’s stance to “a bald hairdresser recommending a hair restorer” and accusing his camp of hypocrisy, given the economic challenges Nigeria faces. The statement further alleged that Saraki’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP) made unsuccessful attempts to disrupt the election process, first by seeking a court order to stop the election and later by encouraging disruptions at polling stations.

“It was the will of the people that led to APC’s victory,” Olukoju said, adding that Saraki’s team was contradicting itself by both denying the election took place and simultaneously claiming to have won.

The statement also criticized Saraki’s record as governor, accusing him of neglecting the welfare of the people through delayed salary payments, fostering intimidation, and presiding over a period of widespread hardship. Olukoju concluded by reinforcing that Saraki’s criticisms hold no weight, given his past failures.
