Lady Cries Out After Thieves Allegedly Strip Part Of Her Windshield In Lekki

A female motorist in Lagos State has raised concerns over the security situation in the Lekki area after she was allegedly targeted by traffic robbers while driving through the area at night.

The woman, who was driving a Mercedes-Benz at about 9:00 p.m., said she was attacked by a three-man gang while trapped in traffic. According to her account, the suspects were dressed in a manner that did not immediately raise suspicion before allegedly targeting motorists caught in the gridlock.

She claimed the men forcefully removed a chrome strip from the windshield of her vehicle, which she estimated to be worth about ₦300,000.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the victim said the alleged robbers continued their operation by targeting other motorists behind her vehicle. She claimed the suspects forcefully took mobile phones and other valuables from people who were unable to move because of the traffic.

The motorist also revealed that the incident was not her first encounter with alleged traffic thieves in the area. She said criminals had previously targeted her Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon and allegedly removed its logo.

Following the latest incident, she urged other motorists using the Lekki axis to remain vigilant, particularly when driving at night or when caught in heavy traffic.

She also advised drivers to exercise caution when strangers approach their vehicles or appear to be seeking assistance, warning motorists not to stop for people staging emergencies or attempting to attract their attention on the road.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the incident has renewed concerns among some motorists about the security of road users in areas affected by heavy traffic, although the victim’s account represents an individual report of the alleged incident.
