Lady Jumps Into Ogun well, Man Consumes Insecticide

Authorities in Ogun State have confirmed two separate incidents suspected to be suicide, involving a man named Opeyemi Lateef and a 24-year-old lady named Gift Bello.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Lateef reportedly ingested a toxic substance, suspected to be ‘Sniper,’ on Wednesday in the Abeokuta Area. His wife, Gift Monday, discovered him in severe pain and rushed him to Royal Grace Hospital before transferring him to the General Hospital in Ijaye, Abeokuta. Despite efforts, Lateef passed away, and he was laid to rest according to Islamic rites.

Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, stated that an investigation is ongoing, with Lateef’s wife in custody for questioning.

In a similar incident, Bello allegedly jumped into a well on Thursday at Arigbanwo along Mowe. Eyewitnesses reported that she drowned, and her body was recovered from the well.

Odutola confirmed the incident, indicating that preliminary investigations are underway. Bello’s body will undergo an autopsy at a mortuary in Sagamu, Ogun.

These tragic events add to a recent report of a 49-year-old woman who reportedly hanged herself in the Magboro area. The police are investigating this incident as well.
