In addition to the fare reduction, the governor revealed adjustments to the physical work attendance requirements for civil servants. While maintaining the five-day work schedule for teaching sector employees, Governor Sanwo-Olu announced a reduction in the number of days other civil servants are obligated to be physically present at their workplaces. Furthermore, plans are in motion to introduce a flexible workweek system for government employees.

Global Aid Shake-Up As Trump Enforces Tough Gender Conditions

Under the proposed flexible workweek, civil servants ranging from levels 1 to 14 will be required to work in their offices for only three days a week. For those on levels 15 to 17, the expectation is four days a week, showcasing a tailored approach to accommodate various grade levels within the civil service.

This innovative policy shift is anticipated to bring about a transformative impact on the working environment for public sector employees in Lagos. The objective is to enhance productivity and job satisfaction among the state’s workforce, aligning with the Lagos State Government’s dedication to embracing progressive work practices that cater to the diverse needs of its employees.
