Lagos PDP Chairman, Philip Aivoji, Responds to Ex-President Jonathan’s Call for Peace in Rivers Political Crisis
The Chairman of the Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Philip Aivoji, has offered his perspective on former President Goodluck Jonathan’s recent appeal to resolve the ongoing political discord in Rivers State.
The rift between Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, has been evident since Fubara assumed office.
However, Jonathan, during the inauguration of the N222.1 billion Trans-Kalabari Road construction, urged both Governor Fubara and Wike to prioritize unity and collaboration for the progress of Rivers State.
Aivoji commended Jonathan’s intervention, acknowledging his expertise in mediation and conflict resolution, particularly on an international scale. He emphasized the significance of truth-telling in resolving disputes, urging Jonathan to provide candid assessments to the involved parties.
The Lagos PDP chairman stressed the importance of investigating the root causes of the crisis and urged adherence to the party’s constitution for resolution.
In essence, Aivoji expressed optimism in Jonathan’s mediation efforts but underscored the necessity of addressing underlying issues for a lasting solution.
