This assurance came during a visit by Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo and her colleagues to the Command’s headquarters, where they sought justice for the deceased and raised concerns about cyberbullying on social media platforms.
Iyabo Ojo expressed her concerns about the increasing prevalence of cyberbullying, particularly among young individuals on social media.
She emphasized the need for a swift response to harassment and threats online, referencing international standards where such actions have legal consequences.
Commissioner Owohunwa expressed gratitude for the delegation’s commitment to seeking justice and pledged his dedication to upholding justice for all residents of the state, regardless of their social status.
He disclosed ongoing efforts to establish a state-of-the-art complaint response unit in Lagos to streamline and digitize the reporting process, making it more accessible to the public.
Regarding Mohbad’s death, the police commissioner revealed plans for collaboration with the state government to initiate a coroner inquest, adhering to legal procedures.
He outlined the protocol for dealing with suspects once evidence is cleared and assured the delegation that they would receive full information and results about Mohbad’s death within two weeks.
