According to the official statement released on X, the government is taking decisive action to address the unauthorized conversion of residential structures, which is seen as a violation of the masterplan of Lagos State. The commissioner expressed concern about the distortion of residential areas, as some individuals have converted them into clubhouses and religious centers, thereby creating a disturbance in the environment.

The 30-day notice serves as a final warning for owners and occupants of such converted buildings to revert to the original residential use of the structures.
