Uzodinma made these assertions at the Presidential Villa following the presentation of flags to the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidates for Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi, in the upcoming elections.

The governor’s response was triggered by the protests held by members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Owerri on Wednesday, resulting in the reported mistreatment of the union’s President, Joe Ajaero, by security agents after the protest was disrupted. The workers were demonstrating against pending salaries.

Uzodinma was adamant that there are no overdue salaries owed to state workers, refuting Ajaero’s claims of unpaid wages.

Regarding the circumstances surrounding Joe Ajaero, Uzodinma clarified that Ajaero has faced difficulties in distinguishing his roles as the national president of the labor union from his involvement as a concerned party in Imo State’s local politics.
