The Committee on Appropriations was tasked with engaging the heads of the concerned agencies for defense on the proposals.

Chaired by Senator Solomon Adeola, the committee engaged with the agency heads until late on Wednesday.

The senator representing Ogun West senatorial district mentioned to reporters that the reports on the supplementary budget proposals would be presented to the Senate for final review and approval on Thursday.

Adeola emphasized that, in accordance with the Senate’s directive stemming from President Tinubu’s request, the Appropriations Committee had discussions with the heads of the seven affected agencies regarding the provided supplementary budget proposals.

Each agency head defended their proposals as presented by the President, aiming to persuade the committee on the necessity for Senate and National Assembly approval of the N2.17 trillion 2023 supplementary budget.
