In a statement, Olajengbesi emphasized that cyberbullying is a serious crime with the potential to endanger lives. He urged fellow legal professionals to advise their clients on the severe consequences of such actions.

“This is a call to my colleagues in the legal profession to normalize advising clients about the dangers of cyberbullying, which can seriously harm individuals, even leading to depression and death in extreme cases,” Olajengbesi stated.

He further explained that defamation carries both criminal and civil penalties and urged for greater public awareness on the limits of freedom of speech in Nigeria. He concluded by highlighting the need for responsible online behavior, stressing that freedom of expression should not infringe on the rights of others.
