The hearing, scheduled for Thursday, could not move forward due to the absence of both Evans, his lawyer, and the prosecution team from the Lagos State Government.

Evans and his co-defendant, Joseph Emekam, face a five-count charge, including conspiracy, kidnapping, and attempted murder, filed by the Lagos Government.

During the previous court session on May 11, the prosecution counsel, Yusuf Sule, informed the court that the defendants had submitted a plea bargain application, which was under review by the Attorney-General of Lagos State, Lawal Pedro, SAN.

However, at the Thursday hearing, the counsel for Evans’ co-defendant, Nelson Onyejaka, expressed surprise over the absence of both the prosecution and Evans’ counsel.

Justice Coker subsequently ordered a production warrant for the defendants and adjourned the case to November 21 for the arraignment and to hear the outcome of the plea bargain negotiations.
