Legal Action Launched To Halt National Assembly’s SUV Acquisition
SERAP has sought interim and interlocutory injunctions in response to reports indicating that lawmakers are preparing to procure and receive N57.6 billion worth of SUVs…CONTINUE READING

These applications were filed in the past week, with SERAP requesting “an interim injunction to prevent the National Assembly from acquiring, accepting, and distributing the SUVs to their members until the motion for an interlocutory injunction is heard and resolved.”
SERAP is also seeking any other order(s) that the court deems appropriate in this case.
As a reminder, in August, SERAP filed a lawsuit (FHC/L/CS/1606/2023) before the Federal High Court challenging the legality of the National Assembly’s spending on luxury vehicles for its members and principal officials.
Furthermore, SERAP sent an open letter to President Bola Tinubu, calling on him to exert pressure on the House of Representatives leadership to halt the delivery of 360 sports utility vehicles (SUVs) to its members pending the resolution of the interim injunction application.
