Okechukwu was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on April 17 for allegedly abusing the naira during a social event at Eko Hotel in Lagos. He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail.

At the last adjourned date on May 2, the defence counsel informed the court of ongoing settlement discussions, leading to an adjournment until today, June 5.

However, the defence has requested a further adjournment, and the case is now scheduled for June 25.

The charge against Okechukwu alleges tampering with N500 notes, violating the Central Bank Act of 2007.
