Lere Olayinka Calls For Fubara’s Loyalty To Wike, Comparing Him To Eno’s Allegiance To Udom

Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has labeled Rivers State Governor, Siminalaya Fubara, a betrayer.

Olayinka pointed out that Wike played a pivotal role in making Fubara the Governor of Rivers State. In an interview with Arise News on Wednesday, he expressed his expectation that Fubara should show loyalty to Wike in the same way Akwa Ibom Governor, Umo Eno, remains loyal to former Governor, Udom Emmanuel.

According to Olayinka, while Fubara is the leader of Rivers State, he must acknowledge and submit to Wike’s leadership.

“Fubara is a leader, but every leader has a leader. I am a leader to some, but I am also led by someone. Fubara is a leader, but his leader is Wike. Wike is the one who made him governor,” he said.

When asked about the people’s vote for Fubara, Olayinka responded, “But would people have voted for him if he wasn’t the PDP candidate?”

He also compared the relationship between Wike and Fubara to that of Governor Eno and Udom, citing betrayal as the key difference.

“Fubara has always been a betrayer, even before becoming governor. Look at Akwa Ibom—when Umo Eno became governor, his commissioners and personal aides were people who worked with Udom Emmanuel. Did he complain? No. He acknowledged that it was a collective effort that got him elected,” Olayinka said.

He further criticized Fubara, saying the Governor of Akwa Ibom has never acted with arrogance or sought to undermine those who helped him rise to power, unlike Fubara’s behavior.
