The chairman made these remarks during an interview with journalists at his office in Awka, the capital of Anambra State.
He contended that APGA has effectively defeated candidates supported by Obi and is likely to achieve the same outcome in 2025 if he sponsors anyone.
He stated, “When you refer to the Labour candidate, do you mean Valentine Ozigbo? Unfortunately, that name has become synonymous with electoral defeat. If he decides to run, he will be competing against his fellow Aguata indigene, Soludo.
“So, I can confidently say that the Obidient man (Obi), APGA has triumphed over him twice. We defeated him when he backed a candidate from Ogbaru, Oseloka Obaze, and we defeated him again when he supported Val Ozigbo.
“What transpired in the last Obidient Movement serves as a lesson to the Igbo people and should not be repeated.
It was akin to the events of 1967 when we went to war with Nigeria without adequate preparation. Such a scenario is unlikely to occur again for the Igbo people.”
