In a recent interview with fellow actress Bimpe Akintunde, Mercy admitted that she never imagined she would end up as a second wife. Addressing criticism surrounding her marriage to Kazim Adeoti, she questioned the lives of those who criticize her choices.

The actress also disclosed that her family initially opposed her decision to remarry because of her age. However, she remained resolute, confident in her desires and choices.

Mercy expressed that people tend to talk about others only when they are successful or well-known.

She said, “I genuinely love love. Some people, including family members, often ask why I chose to remarry at almost 50, but I believe everyone knows what they want. I knew what I wanted, and I’m the kind of person who loves to have a crown (husband) on my head and be married.

Maybe if I had stayed with my baby’s father, I wouldn’t be the Mercy Aigbe people know today. People will always talk when you do something remarkable. If you are not known, you won’t be the topic. When I was younger, I never thought my life would turn out like this.”
