Former House of Representatives member Hon. Onofiok Luke has called on Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun to implement significant reforms to strengthen the rule of law and improve the judiciary’s image……CONTINUE REWRITES 

In a statement released on Sunday, Luke, who previously chaired the House Committee on Judiciary, praised Kekere-Ekun’s appointment as a well-earned recognition of her exceptional contributions and dedication to the legal profession. He expressed hope that under her leadership, the judiciary would achieve greater efficiency.

Luke stated, “Congratulations to Hon. Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun on your appointment as CJN. I am confident that your experience will bring new levels of efficiency to the Nigerian judiciary. I am optimistic that you will introduce reforms that will enhance the judicial workforce and improve working conditions.”

He also highlighted the recent presidential approval of the Bill to increase the salaries and benefits of judicial officers, noting that this development would have a significant impact under Kekere-Ekun’s leadership. Luke emphasized that this commitment by the executive reflects long-standing advocacy efforts, including those made during his own tenure as Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary.
