Appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mahmood was officially welcomed by Adeleye, along with the office’s Directors and staff, during a handover ceremony held on Monday in Abuja.

Mahmood, who emphasized her commitment to an open-door policy, sought the cooperation and dedication of her staff. She promised to build on the achievements of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 (FCCSIP-25), aiming to enhance service delivery and contribute to Nigeria’s development.

Highlighting her enthusiasm for technology, Mahmood, described as a “Technology Junkie,” pledged to introduce modern technological skills to the Civil Service. She encouraged staff to work collaboratively and align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current Administration.

In her address, Mahmood commended Adeleye for his contributions and pledged to seek his guidance as she strives to elevate the office further. The event featured the Emir of Katagun, Bauchi State, Alhaji Muhammadu Umar, who presented Mahmood with a letter of credence through a representative committee.

Outgoing Permanent Secretary Mr. Adeleye Adeoye, who is transitioning to the Federal Ministry of Transportation, expressed satisfaction with his tenure and gratitude to President Tinubu and the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan. He encouraged Mahmood to give her best in her new role and assured her of his support.

Director of Learning and Development, Mr. Atabor Ademu, praised Adeleye for his efforts to push staff performance beyond their comfort zones. The ceremony was attended by a diverse group of staff, colleagues, family, friends, and well-wishers.
