Man Allegedly Murders Wife In Brutal Adamawa Butchery Incident

A 33-year-old resident of Sabon Gari-Futy, Girei Local Government Area, Adamawa State, identified as Ibrahim Abubakar, has been apprehended by the state Police Command following the tragic death of his 25-year-old wife, Hajara Sa’adu. According to SP Suleiman Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer, the incident occurred during a domestic dispute, with Abubakar allegedly stabbing his wife to death.

Nguroje disclosed this information through a statement shared on the command’s official X account on Tuesday. The statement revealed that the suspect reportedly engaged in a heated argument with his wife after she confiscated his phone. Tragically, the dispute escalated, resulting in Abubakar inflicting fatal wounds on Sa’adu using a sharp knife, leaving her in a critical condition.

“The Adamawa State Police Command, on April 8, 2024, apprehended a 33-year-old man for stabbing to death his 25-year-old wife, Hajara Sa’adu,” Nguroje stated. “The suspect, Ibrahim Abubakar, a butcher and resident of Sabon Gari-Futy in Girei Local Government Area subdued the deceased, by stabbing her severally with a sharp knife on her back thereby causing her severe injuries and left her in a pool of blood.”

He added, “The suspect brutally killed the deceased on April 8, 2024, at about 04:30 am, after he accused her of taking away his phone that led to a little argument.”

Following the report made to the police by the deceased’s father, the suspect was swiftly apprehended. Preliminary investigations yielded material evidence linking Abubakar to the crime scene. Additionally, the suspect reportedly confessed to the crime, expressing remorse for his actions.

The tragic incident has left the community in shock, emphasizing the need for domestic peace and conflict resolution. The couple, who shared a child together, now face the devastating consequences of this violent altercation.
