Sevav was apprehended along the Adikpo-Ugbema Road in the Kwande local government area of Benue State. In an interrogation, Sevav confessed to being responsible for the production of all firearms and other weaponry employed by the gang members. The state’s Police Commissioner, Nnamdi Onyeka, revealed this development while presenting several suspected bandits at the command headquarters in Makurdi on August 14, 2023. Onyeka reported that officers from the “Operation ZENDA JTF Tactical Team” successfully arrested a notorious and ruthless bandit kingpin, Kumaor Fachir, also known as “Second-in-Command” to the late Gana.
Continuing the investigation, four additional members of the gang were subsequently apprehended. Fachir, who was associated with “Gana” for over two years during the latter’s lifetime, acknowledged his role in the criminal activities. Following Gana’s demise, Fachir assumed leadership of the gang.
Fachir confessed, “I was captured in Ushongo local government area of the state after orchestrating a robbery where I collected the sum of N120,000 from the victims.”
