The judge determined that Irorun, along with accomplices still at large, operated as a criminal syndicate, deceiving innocent individuals under the guise of facilitating their Hajj pilgrimage. Convicted under Sections 312 and 285 (9) (b) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2011, Irorun was sentenced to a decade in prison, with his term set to begin on June 6, 2022.

Throughout the trial, prosecution counsel Mr. O. A. Azeez presented three witnesses, including one of the victims who contributed funds given to Irorun. Justice Ogala underscored the significance of the testimony provided by Alhaji Lukman Abdulkareem, labeling it “succinct and direct,” while noting that the other witnesses corroborated his account.
