Manhunt Launched: Soludo Offers Reward For Gunmen In Anambra Burial Tragedy

Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has offered a ₦10 million reward for information leading to the arrest of the gunmen behind a deadly attack in Ihiala that claimed seven lives.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The attack, which took place on Monday, resulted in the deaths of five security operatives and two civilians. The assailants struck during preparations for a January 2 burial ceremony, opening fire indiscriminately before targeting security personnel near the local government headquarters as they fled, leaving more casualties in their wake.

State Police Command spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident, stating that Commissioner of Police Nnaghe Obono Itam has launched a manhunt to apprehend the culprits.

Speaking at the burial of Bridget Akanma Onuchukwu in Ihiala, Governor Soludo urged community leaders and residents to stand united against criminal activities in the state.

“These criminals are among us here in Ihiala,” Soludo emphasized. “As community leaders, presidents-general, or group leaders, you must gather information and act. We cannot let such atrocities continue.”

Announcing the bounty, he declared, “The government will reward anyone with information leading to the arrest of these perpetrators with ₦10 million. We are placing ₦10 million on the head of each individual involved in this crime.”

Governor Soludo also condemned the attackers, invoking curses upon them and their descendants.

“Those who committed this atrocity will never see good fortune, neither they nor their lineage,” he vowed.
