The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced the apprehension of 40 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud. According to a statement issued by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale on Sunday, the arrests took place on February 17, 2024, in Mpape, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and Keffi, Nasarawa State.
The operation was executed based on credible information regarding the suspects’ alleged involvement in internet-related offenses. The arrested individuals, consisting of 38 males and two females, were found in possession of various items linked to their illicit activities.
Among the confiscated items were two cars, 56 mobile phones, four smartwatches, eight power banks, and four laptops. The EFCC continues its efforts to combat cybercrime and financial fraud, and these arrests demonstrate its commitment to addressing such criminal activities within the country.
