The crackdown, executed simultaneously across the state’s 42 police divisions, also led to the recovery of a motorcycle and ₦228,570 in cash, suspected to be proceeds from drug sales.

Police spokesperson, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, revealed that the suspects were apprehended for offences ranging from drug peddling to possession of prohibited substances. Among the recovered items were Exol and D5 tablets, Tramadol capsules, and cannabis.

Commending the officers for their professionalism, Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, described the operation as part of sustained efforts to rid Jigawa of illicit drugs and related crimes. He further urged residents to support security agencies with credible information that could aid investigations and enhance public safety.

The Police confirmed that all 153 suspects have been charged in court, reiterating that the fight against drug trafficking and abuse remains a top priority due to its strong link with violent crime, theft, and other social vices in the state.
