Speaking on a lifestyle podcast, May revealed that their paths crossed long before marriage or fame. Contrary to popular assumptions, she said their meeting did not happen at a party or glamorous event, but rather at a General Certificate Examination (GCE) centre during her early university days.

At the time, May had just relocated from Lagos to begin her studies at Enugu State University, while Yul was a student at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).

Recalling her younger years, the mother of three described herself as an academic enthusiast.
She said: “Back in school when I moved to the East for university, I was always about books. I’m a bookworm. We didn’t meet at a party or in any glamorous setting; we met at a GCE centre.”

Meanwhile, Nollywood actress Anita Joseph has weighed in on the controversy involving May and her former lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye. Emeka recently alleged in a viral video that Anita had staged fake awards and ambassadorial recognitions for May.

The claims surfaced shortly after May filed a ₦1.5 billion lawsuit against the lawyer, accusing him of defamation and cyberbullying.

Reacting via Instagram on Tuesday, Anita dismissed the accusations as baseless and reaffirmed that every award May received was genuine. She further criticized Emeka’s conduct, questioning why he continued to target May even after their professional relationship ended.
