Massive NIN Enrollment: Lagos, Kano Take The Lead As Over 117 Million Nigerians Comply

As of February 28, 2025, a total of 117 million Nigerians have successfully registered for the National Identity Number (NIN), according to the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) enrollment dashboard.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Lagos State leads the registration tally with over 12.6 million registered individuals, while Kano State follows with 10.2 million.

Of the total registered population, 66,281,803 (56.5%) are male, and 51,079,521 (43.5%) are female. NIMC’s report highlights that the highest cumulative enrollment was recorded in Lagos State, reflecting a balanced distribution between the North and South.

Bayelsa, Ebonyi, and Ekiti states reported the lowest enrollment figures. Bayelsa recorded 758,111 registrations (416,015 males and 342,096 females), Ebonyi had 990,775 registrations (537,939 males and 452,836 females), while Ekiti reported 1,143,102 registrations (566,229 males and 576,873 females).

Other states with low NIN registration numbers include Cross River (1,397,233), Taraba (1,768,754), Yobe (1,857,532), Kogi (1,912,382), Enugu (1,946,464), Kwara (2,004,667), and Imo (2,024,423).

Conversely, Lagos recorded the highest enrollment with 12,612,334 registrations, including 6,870,915 males and 5,741,419 females. Kano followed with 10,246,055 registrations (5,924,126 males and 4,321,929 females).

Kaduna reported 6,945,818 registrations (3,832,083 males and 3,113,735 females), Ogun had 4,926,721 registrations (2,567,102 males and 2,359,619 females), and Oyo recorded 4,539,340 registrations (2,361,100 males and 2,178,240 females).

Other states in the top ten include Katsina (4,019,964), Federal Capital Territory, Abuja (3,795,690), Rivers (3,532,787), Delta (3,198,779), and Bauchi (3,078,996).
